The compliance challenge

Victorian food businesses are regulated under the Food Act 1984 (Vic) in addition to the Food Standards Code. Requirements — including registration class, food safety program type and food safety supervisor obligations — depend on the classification of the business.

Businesses commonly need help where a food safety program is required but outdated, where records do not support the program, or where a council or auditor has raised findings.

About this service

Support is provided to develop or review HACCP-based food safety programs suited to Victorian requirements, and to put the records and verification activities in place that demonstrate the program is being followed.

Regulatory content is documented separately from operational procedures so that when Victorian requirements change, the affected sections can be reviewed and updated without rewriting the whole system.

This is an independent consultancy. It is not a government regulator, an enforcement agency or a certification body, and it does not conduct statutory food safety audits or issue registrations.
